BEFORE SCHOOL: Cranston School follows a soft entry routine. Beginning at 7:50 a.m., students are welcomed at their designated entrance doors and enter the school directly. For safety reasons, please ensure your child does not arrive before 7:50 a.m. and that they proceed immediately to their entrance upon arrival.
AFTER SCHOOL: Kindergarten and Grade 1 students are released directly to a parent or designated adult/sibling at their exit door each day. Students in Grades 2 to 4 are dismissed independently. All students are expected to go home promptly upon dismissal unless they are directly supervised by a parent or guardian. For safety reasons, students should not stay to play on the playground after school, as there is no outdoor school supervision at that time.
PICK UP, SIGN OUT: Students are not permitted to leave the school grounds during the school day without prior permission from the office. If you need to pick up your child during school hours, please contact the office prior to 2:15 pm. All students must be signed out by an adult at the main office before leaving the building during school hours.
ACTIVE ROUTES TO SCHOOL: Students are welcome and encouraged to ride their bikes, scooters, etc. to school. However, for safety reasons, they must walk their bikes or scooters while on school grounds. Students and adults should not ride through the parking lot or school compound under any circumstances.
The school is not responsible for lost or stolen bikes. Please ensure your child brings a lock and knows how to use it independently. For safety reasons, skateboards, rollerblades, “wheelie shoes,” and similar items are not allowed inside the school.
