Cranston School is located in the far southeast corner of the city of Calgary. It first opened in September of 2010 and has grown to be home to over 600 students in Kindergarten to Grade 4. Cranston is also the designated school for Seton.

Weekly Communication

The school office will send out weekly “Cranston Connection” updates via School Messenger, sharing important information and upcoming events. These updates will also be posted on the school website for easy access. To ensure you receive these messages, please make sure the school has your current email address on file.

In addition to school-wide messages, classroom teachers will communicate with families through School Messenger and phone calls. We also communicate through our school Instagram account @cranstonschoolcbe. Check the staff page for individual classroom links.

The school office is open during regular school hours. Legal Guardians who wish to meet with teachers or administration are asked to contact the school in advance by email or telephone so that a mutually convenient time can be arranged.

School Development Plan

Each year, our school prepares a development plan with input from teachers, school staff, students and parents. We review many sources of data, including report cards, provincial achievement test results and school surveys. Based on this information, we create our plan identifying targeted areas for growth. Our school development plan is not meant to represent all of the work that takes place in our school, but rather it focuses on specific areas for improvement.

School Improvement Results Report

Our school also prepares a results plan, which looks at our previous school year. It shows our students’ achievement and progress in meeting the goals and outcomes as set out by the CBE and Alberta Education, outlines some of the highlights of our school development plan and gives an overview of our school. You can look on the CBE website for system-wide results.
