Valuables and Personal Items
Children are encouraged to be responsible for their own possessions. Students should not bring toys and other special personal items to school. Students are strongly discouraged from bringing money to school unless they are delivering it directly to the office or their teacher for a field trip.
Under new Provincial orders, all Calgary Board of Education K-9 schools have an “Away for the Day” policy for personal mobile devices including cell phones, smart watches, laptops, tablets etc. If students bring a cellphone or Smart watch to school, it must be turned off or on silent and must remain in the child’s backpack for the full duration of the school day. Please review this new policy on the Calgary Board of Education website for more information.
Lost and Found
Please label your child’s belongings! Items such as clothing, lunch boxes, and other belongings left around the school or playground will be placed in the Lost & Found, located in the Hub (foyer/gathering space). Small valuables and money will be turned into the office. Lost & Found items are regularly donated to local charities throughout the year, so students/families are encouraged to check the Lost & Found regularly to claim their items.
Bikes & Scooters
Children may ride their bikes/scooters to school however the school is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please provide a lock for your child and teach them how to use it independently. Skateboards, roller blades, “wheelie shoes” etc. are not allowed on school property due to safety and storage concerns.
