As we move into the final weeks of the school year, we would like to take a moment to recognize and thank the many volunteers who support Cranston School throughout the year.  

Whether helping at school events, organizing fundraisers, volunteering in classrooms, supporting School Council initiatives, preparing materials, chaperoning field trips, you continue to step in wherever help is needed and your contributions make a meaningful difference to our students and staff. Many of the experiences that help make Cranston such a vibrant and welcoming school community are only possible because of the time, energy, and generosity of our volunteers. 

 

At Cranston School, our community is grounded in the values of Peace, Hope, and Harmony. We see peace in the welcoming and supportive environment that volunteers help create, hope in the opportunities they provide for students to learn and grow, and harmony in the way volunteers work together to support Cranston students. 

On behalf of our students and staff, thank you for the countless ways you contribute to our school community. Your generosity enriches the educational experiences of our students and helps make Cranston School a place where children and staff feel supported, connected, and inspired. 

Reminders & Ramblings

  • Yellow School Bus Registration Deadline – June 14. Families requiring yellow school bus service for the 2026–27 school year are reminded that registration must be completed by June 14 to ensure students are added to routes for the first day of class. If your family has moved or will be moving over the summer, please ensure your school registration information is accurate and up to date by contacting the front office by email. 
  • As we move into June, students continue to spend significant time outdoors. Please remember to send a water bottle, hat, sunscreen (applied before school), and weather-appropriate clothing each day. 

Cranston School Council Corner 

Grade 4 Ice Cream Social

Calling all Grade 4 students! To celebrate their final week at Cranston School, School Council will be treating Grade 4 students to an Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, June 23. We’re excited to help send our Grade 4 students off with a sweet treat as they prepare for their next adventure in middle school! Please note that this is a student only event.   

Final School Council Meeting

Our final School Council meeting of the school year will be held on June 16th @ 6:30 (in-person or virtual). Meetings will resume on the third Tuesday of each month beginning in September, and we’d love to welcome some new faces! To maintain our non-profit society and support important initiatives like our casino fundraiser, we’ll be looking to fill several volunteer and executive positions for the upcoming school year. 

Casino Dates (December 2026)

Speaking of the casino, our dates have been confirmed for December 13th and 14th at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino. This is our largest fundraiser, raising $85,000+ for the school every two years. We’ll need volunteers for a variety of shifts, and no experience is necessary. Past volunteers consistently tell us it’s a lot of fun, a great way to meet other school families, and the time goes by quickly. More information on available roles and sign-ups will be shared in the fall.
