Spring Concert in the Park Monday, May 25
It is hard to believe we are already entering the final week of May!
This upcoming week is an especially exciting one as we prepare for our very first Spring Concert in the Park on Monday evening. Over the past several weeks, students and staff have been hard at work practicing songs and preparing for what we hope will be a joyful evening of music, celebration, and connection.
Families are welcome to come and go between performances as their schedules allow; however, all children must be supervised by their parent/guardian while onsite and must leave when their adult leaves.
Please be on the back compound a minimum of 15 minutes before your child’s performance time and keep your child with you until they are called to line up.
Performance times are as follows:
- 5:20 PM – Kindergarten / Grade 1
- 5:50 PM – Grade 2 / Grade 3
- 6:20 – Grade 4
Students will be rehearsing outside on Monday afternoon. Please apply sunscreen to your child before they leave for school and send them with a hat if possible.
Reminders
- PARKING: With up to 600 students performing, we are expecting a large crowd for this event. Families are strongly encouraged to walk or use Calgary Transit if possible as parking will be extremely limited. Dr. George Stanley School (585 Cranston Dr.) and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (200 Cranston Rd.) have generously offered families the use of their parking lots during the event. Families who live nearby are encouraged to leave these spaces available for families travelling from further away, including our Seton families.
- FOOD TRUCKS: (Arepas Ranch, Avatara Pizza, Family Fry Guy, Kona Ice, Mini Donuts, and Uzu Ice Cream) will be serving on site from 4:30–7:30 pm. Please use the garbage and beverage recycling bins provided.
- SEATING: There will be a limited number of school chairs set up on the compound. Families are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and/or enjoy the performance amphitheater-style on the grass. Please be courteous to others and sensitive to our space constraints when setting up your chairs.
- BATHROOM: access inside the school will be limited. Please plan accordingly.
- THE OBVIOUS BUT STILL WORTH MENTIONING: No dogs other than documented service dogs, no vaping or smoking, and please always supervise your children.
- BIKES: If riding bikes to the event, please use the bike racks at the front of the school. Bikes should not be brought to the field area behind the school.
