Principal’s Post

Our Family Math & Science Night on April 10 was a big success. The school hub, and hallways were full of families playing card games, dice games, strategy games and the gym was a buzz of activity thanks to interactive APEGA science displays. Every student went home with a free deck of playing cards donated by Grey Eagle Resort and Casino. Don’t forget to scan the QR code on your deck of cards! It will take you to this page on our school website where you can access a list of instructions for a variety of card and dice games to play at home as a family https://cranston.cbe.ab.ca/news/family-math-science-night-april-10-2025

Club Fridays are Back! Teachers will be offering a round of Club Fridays on May 23 and May 30 for students in grades 1-4. Club Fridays are an opportunity for students to participate in a mixed grade club activity, building community and belonging across the school community. Your child will work with their teacher to identify their top club choices from a list provided and Admin will create balanced groupings. Stay tuned!

Save the Date:

We hope you will join us for an upcoming PARENT/GUARDIAN ONLY workshop taking place at the school on Tuesday April 15 from 6:30-7:30pm. Play is one of our very first learning tools. It helps us to discover our voices, our toes, our limits. Loose parts play uses versatile, open-ended materials that children can manipulate, move, construct, and transform during play, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and imagination. In this hands-on workshop, Donna Gimbel from www.playperspective.ca will engage parents/guardians in a fun and interactive experience, reconnecting with the power of play. Participants will leave with an understanding of why schools are re-investing in what has long been considered a critical component of a holistic education. Our regular school council meeting will follow at 7:30pm for those who are interested in staying after playing.
