Principal’s Post

Alberta Health Services has extended our “rash illness outbreak” status. This status is given when there is an increase in the number of students presenting with rash related illness. This is a routine rash outbreak investigation, and measles is not suspected to be the cause. The school continues to be open and operational with adjustments in place to minimize large gatherings. We recommend that any child who develops a new rash in the next 10 days see a doctor for an assessment. Please do not send your child to school if they are feeling ill, and please inform the school if your child develops a new rash.  We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to prioritize a safe learning environment for everyone.

Reminders & Ramblings

NEXT YEAR KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION:

Unfortunately, with the extended “Rash Related Illness Outbreak” status we will not be able to host our Welcome to Kindergarten Orientation in person next week as it is classified as a large gathering.

Instead, we will be hosting the meeting online on a video platform called TEAMS. Next year kindergarten families will be able to log into the meeting from their phone, tablet, or computer by clicking on this link that was sent to their email earlier today. The meeting will start online at 6:00pm.

Since we are moving the information meeting online, it is important that next year kindergarten families pick up their kindergarten package at the school next week: Tuesday June 10th between 3:30pm and 5:00pm or Friday June 13th between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. We will send packages home in the backpacks of the older siblings of existing Cranston families next week.

LIBRARY BOOKS:

As we prepare for Summer Break, all library books need to be returned by Friday June 13th to avoid any possible charges. Thank you for your help with this.

LOST AND FOUND:

Our lost and found is FULL of all kinds of clothing items that need to find their way back home. Teachers will be taking their classes past the lost and found over the next two weeks and any leftover items will be donated during the last week of the school year.
