Principal's Post

It's hard to believe we are already entering November!

With two months of school behind us, our students have settled into classroom routines, built friendships, and made important progress in their learning.

As the days grow shorter and the weather gets colder, it is the care, kindness, and support we show one another that help keep Cranston School a warm and welcoming place to learn and grow.

Thank you to our families and staff for the many ways you contribute to our school community each and every day.

We would also like to extend a big thank you to Cranston School Council and Sobeys Cranston for donating a pumpkin to every classroom last week!

From counting seeds to creating and carving, the pumpkins brought plenty of fun and learning into our classrooms in the lead-up to Halloween.

Reminders & Ramblings

Please Label Your Child's Clothing

With colder weather comes more jackets, hoodies, hats, mittens, and boots.

Please ensure your child's name is clearly written on all clothing and personal belongings.

When items end up in our Lost & Found, having a name on them makes it much easier for us to return them to their owners.

Our Lost & Found fills up quickly, and we have limited space to store missing items for extended periods.

A quick reminder: Labeling your child's belongings is one of the easiest ways to help prevent lost items.

Morning Safety | Keeping Our School Community Safe

With darker mornings, it is especially important that everyone takes extra care when travelling around the school.

Please remember to:

  • Slow down when driving near the school.
  • Use designated crosswalks.
  • Follow all posted traffic signs.
  • Avoid making U-turns.
  • Do not jaywalk.

These important safety practices help protect children and families as they arrive at school each morning.

Safety Tip: Families may also wish to consider adding reflective strips or tags to their child's backpack or jacket to make them more visible to drivers during darker mornings.

Thank you for helping keep our school community safe.
