  • Kindergarten and new Grade 1 – 4 student registration for the 2025-2026 school year opens on Monday, January 13 2025. If your child(ren) are returning to Cranston or moving on to Dr. George Stanley School nothing needs to be done. All registrations are done online through a program called School Engage. All the details are on the CBE website at https://cbe.ab.ca/registration/registration/Pages/new-students.aspx
  • Giving Trees: The Cranston Leadership Club has set up two trees in the Hub. The “Warm Hands, Happy Hearts” tree is collecting mittens and gloves for students at Douglas Harkness School and James Short Memorial School. The Food Bank tree is collecting non-perishable food donations to feed hungry families over the holidays. Students can drop off donations until December 17. We encourage everyone attending the Kindergarten and/or Grade 1/2 concerts next week to consider bringing a donation to put under the tree. Let’s warm some hands and fill some bellies together!
  • Thank you: On behalf of the staff and students, I would like to thank the many parents and guardians who volunteered their time at our school casino this week. If I missed you when I stopped by the casino to say a personal thank you, I want you to know that your donation of time is very much appreciated! We would also like to thank our amazing School Council and Society members for the work they put in to make sure that this week’s casino was a success. Without you, this casino would have never happened!! You are awesome! From Mrs. George
  • We encourage parents to ensure their children are dressed properly. Many students are arriving in running shoes and without coats. Children will be going outside for recess unless it is colder than – 20 Celsius with or without the wind-chill.
