Take a look and don’t forget to turn up your volume 😊
Report Cards
- We would like to remind you that semester one report cards are now visible through your child’s MyCBE account.
Family Dance
- Next Thursday is the School Council run family dance. Ticket sales closed last week. As this is an independent council sponsored event there will not be any school staff in attendance (as per CBE guidelines), however all staff hope that you enjoy the evening and we would like to thank our awesome parent volunteers for bringing this opportunity to the school! For any inquiries about this event you must contact parent council via email at cranstoncouncil@gmail.com
Traffic
- We appreciate that traffic around the school at pick up and drop off is challenging to navigate. Adhering to the signs and rules of the road will help to keep the children of Cranston School safe. Please do not drop off or pick up your child in the parking lot. Also, please lead by example and take the extra few steps to a crosswalk. This will model a “SAFETY OVER CONVENIENCE” attitude to your child and will reinforce the life lesson that jaywalking is dangerous! Some changes we have made and more changes that are coming soon include:
- We have adjusted morning supervision spots so that Mrs. George can be freed up from bus supervision to support Ms. Bodley in the drop-and-go and parking lot area
- We have placed pylons in the parking lot to create a small sideway for students to pass through
- New and improved “NO PICKUP OR DROP OFF” signs are on order and coming soon for the parking lot
- A request has been submitted to extend the City of Calgary bus zone signs in front of the school to accommodate our 5 busses. Looking ahead to next year, 50% of our new K-4 enrollments will be arriving from Seton so we expect even more busses in the fall. Extending the signage now will assist with that transition.
- An expression of interest was submitted in early November to be added to the “Active & Safe Routes to School Program” through Ever Active Schools. A meeting with their consultant and school Admin will take place next week. Thank you to one of our amazing parents for bringing this project to our attention!
- As always, reports of unsafe driving and parking can be made directly to the Calgary Police and Calgary Parking Authority. Let’s all work together to make pick up and drop off safer for everyone! Thank you for your cooperation!
Lost and found
- Our lost and found collection is growing by the day. If your child is missing some items, please feel free to come into the school and take a look. We will be donating all items after teacher’s convention.
