Principal’s Post

This Thursday and Friday, we will be holding our Parent/Guardian–Teacher Conferences. We are truly looking forward to connecting with you to share students’ progress.

Each child is able to book one 15-minute conference slot. Conferences must be booked online through your MyCBE account. The booking window has been open since 6:00am on Nov. 20 and it will close at 11:59pm on the 26. If you have not yet scheduled your time, please do so as soon as possible! For instructions see our Parent-Teacher Conference page.

These meetings are an important opportunity for us to partner together in support of your child’s success. When we work together, combining what you know about your child at home with what we know at school, we can set goals and discuss strategies that support their continued growth. Thank you for taking the time to meet with us and for your ongoing commitment to your child’s education. We appreciate your partnership and look forward to seeing you later this week!

Reminders & Rambling

  • Kindergarten teachers require additional time to conduct conferences for both morning and afternoon classes. Therefore, there is no school for kindergarten students on Thursday, November 27. Grade 1-4 students have school as usual on Thursday. There is no school for any CBE students on Friday.
  • During conferences, please take a moment to check our Lost and Found. We do not have the space to store unclaimed items. All remaining items will be packed up Friday afternoon and donated to Goodwill.
  • The Scholastic Book Fair will be open during conferences. This is a wonderful opportunity to build your home reading collection while also supporting our school. Cranston receives a portion of the profits to purchase new books for our library. Classroom teachers will also be posting a “classroom library wish list” at the book fair this year. If families are interested, you may choose a book from the list to donate to the classroom library in your child’s name. Thank you for supporting literacy in our community!
  • With the changing weather, please check the forecast each morning to ensure your child is dressed appropriately for outdoor play. In the CBE, students go outside daily unless the windchill reaches –20°C or colder.
