- We’ve had more complaints from our neighbours about jaywalking and children running across the street and darting between vehicles at drop off and pick up. Please lead by example and use the crosswalk. This is for EVERYONE’s safety. Thank you.
- We have had complaints about dogs on school property. In accordance to The City of Calgary Bylaw 23M2006 dogs are NOT permitted on school grounds at any time, even if they are on a leash. This includes waiting outside your child’s pickup door. Thank you for your cooperation.
- Bus Parents: Children on Southland Busses A, B and C can monitor and track the bus through the MyBusStop app. MyBusStop is a Southland app that provides real-time information on the location of a bus and any delays. A new unique access code will be provided each new school year through MyCBE to registered students assigned to stops. Please refer to this as often the office is unaware of any delays and will not have any additional information for parents.
Riders on Bus D will need to use Transdev’s WheresTheBus app. Information on this can be found on the CBE transportation page. - School Council is still in need of volunteers for the upcoming Casino fundraiser on December 4 & 5. Please see that attached flyer. Here is the sign up link. Thank you all in advance for the generous donation of your time to help make Cranston School a great place for all of your children. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D45AAAE2AA4FCC25-51546658-cranston#/
- Halloween, students are invited to wear costumes to school if they would like to. Costumes are not mandatory. If your child wears a costume, please make sure it is something that they are comfortable learning in all day.
· No masks
· No extra accessories including wands, pirate hooks, weapons etc because these items can get lost and broken or forgotten. School staff will be leaving quickly after school to go home and get their own children and homes ready for Halloween so they will not be here if you come back looking for lost costume pieces.
· We encourage moderation with regards to sending Halloween candy as a snack. It is not good for learning.
