Please see below for important staffing updates at Cranston School.
Dear Cranston Families,
Re: Staffing Update
We are writing to inform you of some staffing adjustments happening at Cranston. This week we received additional one time funding to support literacy, numeracy, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion at Cranston School. After carefully reviewing the strengths and needs in our building, we have made the decision to assign Ms. Kenna to a Resource teacher role four afternoons a week. This will allow her to attend to this important work across all of the grades while continuing her grade one teaching role in the mornings.
We are excited to announce that Ms. Hartmann, who is currently teaching morning Kindergarten at Cranston, will be joining Ms. Kenna and Ms. Deobald on the grade one team during the afternoons. Ms. Hartmann has 27 years of teaching experience and is a familiar face in our school, having taught grade 4 with us last year. She will work closely with Ms. Kenna and Ms. Deobald to ensure a smooth transition. We are confident that the students will love learning from this new fabulous team of three! In addition, we are thrilled to share that we have increased Educational Assistant hours at Cranston as well as hiring an additional 15 hour Educational Assistant in the coming weeks. We are grateful for the funding that is allowing us to make these staffing adjustments and know that they will have a positive impact on the success and achievement of all of our students.
Sincerely,
Jennifer George
