Monday/Wednesday Kindergarten attends on Friday November 1 from 8:05 am to 11:45am

Parents: Please ensure your child is dressed for all weather conditions when they arrive at school. We had many children this past week with no mitts, toques or proper outdoor boots. We will be going outside for morning and lunch recess if it is warmer than – 20 degrees. Thank-you!

Parents: A reminder that there is no teacher supervision after school. If your child does not have a parent/guardian or pick up person at the school they need to go home directly at the end of the school day.

For Halloween, students are invited to wear costumes to school if they would like to. Costumes are not mandatory. If your child wears a costume, please make sure it is something that they are comfortable learning in all day.

  • No masks
  • No extra accessories including wands, pirate hooks, weapons etc because these items can get lost and broken or forgotten. School staff will be leaving quickly after school to go home and get their own children and homes ready for Halloween so they will not be here if you come back looking for lost costume pieces.
  • We encourage moderation with regards to sending Halloween candy as a snack. It is not good for learning.

The lost and found is overflowing. Please stop in if you are able to take a look!

Please see the letter about Radon gas testing that will be conducted at Cranston School this fall.

Remembrance Day is fast approaching. As part of this we are asking families (if applicable) to send a digital photo of your current Cranston Student as well as a photo (or a copy of an older photograph) of any current service member or veteran in your family. Please have your submissions emailed to Mrs. Stricker at ojstricker@cbe.ab.ca by November 5. Ms. Stricker has kept all the submissions from last year’s display so if you submitted last year no need to resend for this year. There are a few bio questions to help identify their role and connection to our community.
