Weekly Message April 15-19 | No School Friday, School Council Meeting, Math Night, Snacks, Budget, Music Monday, Spring Concert
- No School on Friday, April 19.
- School Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 16 at 7:00pm. If you are unable to attend in person the google teams link is Click here to join the meeting
- Math Night is Thursday, April 18 – We would like to invite all parents along with their children to join us to learn some math games which support curricular achievement from 5:30-7:00. This is a drop in event and you are not expected to be here for the duration nor are you expected to arrive at 5:30. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
- Snacks - We are finding that a number of students are requesting extra food these days. Please ensure that you are providing enough snacks/food for the day.
- We are actively planning our school budget for the upcoming school year. If there has been any change from when you filled out your questionnaire in February and your child(ren) will not be attending our school in 2024-2025 can you please let us know as soon as possible by emailing cranston@cbe.ab.ca or calling the office at 403-777-6267. If you have notified us already about leaving Cranston School for the fall there is NO NEED for further action. Having accurate enrolment projections helps us plan effectively, preventing the need to realign how many classrooms we have in September. If your Grade 4 and/or 5 student(s) is attending Dr. George Stanley, they will be automatically designated to that school for the fall. If your child will be remaining with us for the upcoming school year, there is no action you need to take. They will automatically be enrolled into their next grade.
Music
Music Monday is a day to celebrate the importance of having music in our schools. Schools and communities all across Canada join together in song to celebrate on the first Monday of May. This year it will be celebrated on Monday, May 6. Students have been learning the 20th anniversary anthem, "We Are One" by Conor Ross https://vimeo.com/117774013.
