Planning for Next Year
We are actively planning our school budget for the upcoming school year. If there has been any change from when you filled out your questionnaire in February and your child(ren) will not be attending our school in 2024-2025 can you please let us know as soon as possible by emailing cranston@cbe.ab.ca or calling the office at 403-777- 6267. If you have notified us already about leaving Cranston School for the fall there is NO NEED for further action. Having accurate enrolment projections helps us plan effectively, preventing the need to realign how many classrooms we have in September. If your Grade 4 or 5 student is attending Dr. George Stanley, they will be automatically designated to that school for the fall. If your child will be remaining with us for the upcoming school year, there is no action you need to take. They will automatically be enrolled into their next grade.
Music
Grades 4 and 5 students finished their graffiti style artwork and learned about beatboxing. Ask your student what the three basic sounds are used when beatboxing.
Students in grades 1 to 3 played rhythm sticks to practice rhythmic reading and playing. Grade 1 revisited a favourite song called, "Listen To The Water."
Grade 2 learned a hand clapping game to "Hot Cross Buns."
Grade 3 learned "I Love the Mountains" and sang it in unison as well as in two and three parts!
We had a great turnout for the Grade 4 and 5 choir on Wednesday! Students were all very excited to come together and sing. We plan to have a song ready to perform at our Music Monday Assembly coming up on Monday May 6.
Reminder / Save the Date: Grades 4 & 5 Spring Concert Thursday, May 16th, 2024. More details to come
