  • Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten attends on Friday, February 9th from 8:05 am to 11:45.
  • Lunchroom request: The lunch staff have been giving out an increased amount of snacks and plastic utensils for students. We are asking to please ensure that your child has the utensils they need for their food and to perhaps add a snack or two to their bag. Thank you.
  • Attendance request: If you are emailing your children’s teacher about absences PLEASE attach cranston@cbe.ab.ca to your email. Teachers are busy in the mornings and may not see your email in time or assume you have also contacted the office. If the office doesn’t hear from you we will be calling regardless. Thank you.
  • Parents: We have been getting many calls about unneighbourly behaviour specifically at the end of the day during pick up. Please DO NOT park in driveways, block driveways, park in the crosswalk or park on the corners. We have instructed our neighbours to take photos of licence plates and report them to Calgary City Police. If you observe unsafe or illegal traffic violations, we encourage you to report these to Calgary City Police. Here is a link with instructions: https://www.calgary.ca/cps/tra...
  • Cranston School families have over $210,000 in fees due towards noon supervision, bussing, fieldtrips, and SSF (Student Supplies Fee) from 2017 to present. Some of these fees are owed to the Calgary Board of Education while others are owed to the school. Once overdue fees are paid, the money goes back to the schools owed money regardless of the amount of time passed. The CBE student fees department will be sending all Noon Supervision fees prior to this year to Collections in January. We encourage you to please take a look at the fees located under the Student Fees & Service Registrations tab when logging into your MyCBE/PowerSchool account to view your child(ren)’s report card(s). If you have any questions about your MyCBE/Powerschool account please click this useful link full of FAQ’s https://www.cbe.ab.ca/support/Pages/MyCBE-PowerSchool-FAQ.aspx#g5b
  • Lost and found: Our lost and found collection is growing by the day. If your child is missing some items, please feel free to come into the school and take a look.

The kindergarten classes have started joining the Grade one classes in preparation for their concert on February 29th.

Please note: the concert is following the themes of Kindness, Friendship, and Pink Shirt Day.  We are hopeful that all students could wear pink for our show.

Students in grade two learned a song called Oliver Twist.  Ask if they can sing it to you.

Grades 3 - 5 continued work with the barred Orff instruments and have begun playing and creating ostinati to create layered musical pieces.
