Students in grades one and two are finishing up our listening unit of the Nutcracker.   We have read the story and taken some time to watch clips of the ballet and put our listening skills to work focusing on identifying tempo and dynamics as well as trying to hear specific instruments.

Grade three students were practicing pitch matching using solfege.  We learned a song about donkeys that we sang in both two and three part rounds!

Grade four classes were also practicing our solfege and singing in tow and three parts.  We sang a song about clocks.  Ask your student if they remember the lyrics.

Grade five learned about the song “Follow the Drinking Gourd” and are working on illustrating pictures to accompany the song lyrics.
