  • PM Kindergarten attends on Friday, January 26th from 8:05 am to 11:45 am.
  • Some unsafe driving practices have been observed during morning drop offs and afternoon pickups. We are asking parents to please make sure you are not parking in crosswalks or on corners, you are obeying speed limits, not blocking driveways, not making u-turns and not jaywalking with your children. For those parents using the drop and drive we ask that you pull up as far as you can in line. This helps the drop and drive run as smooth as possible. A reminder that the staff parking lot is for staff only. Parents going in and out of the parking lot is dangerous for our students. Thank-you for helping us keep students safe during this very busy time.
  • Cranston School families have over $219,000 in fees due towards noon supervision, bussing, fieldtrips, and SSF (Student Supplies Fee) from 2017 to present. Some of these fees are owed to the Calgary Board of Education while others are owed to the school. Once overdue fees are paid, the money goes back to the schools owed money regardless of the amount of time passed. The CBE student fees department will be sending all Noon Supervision fees prior to this year to Collections in January. We encourage you to please take a look at the fees located under the Student Fees & Service Registrations tab when logging into your MyCBE/PowerSchool account to view your child(ren)’s report card(s). If you have any questions about your MyCBE/Powerschool account please click this useful link full of FAQ’s https://www.cbe.ab.ca/support/Pages/MyCBE-PowerSchool-FAQ.aspx#g5b

Grade one students learned a song about icicles, were identifying high and low pitches, and sang and practiced our solfege for So, Mi, and La.

Grade two students wrapped up their last lessons of the Nutcracker.  They also practiced So, Mi and La solfege.

Grades three, four and five students were introduced to Mallet Madness where we moved in a circuit through the barred instruments.  Ask your student if they remember the three names of the different barred instruments.

Grade five students also were working on finishing our class book illustrating the lyrics of "Follow The Drinking Gourd." Some students have taken them home to finish over the weekend.
