- Parents: Please ensure your child is dressed for all weather conditions when they arrive at school. We had many children this past week with no mitts, toques or proper outdoor boots. We will be going outside for morning and lunch recess if it is warmer than – 20 degrees. Thank-you!
- There are over 170 demographic verification and annual authorization forms outstanding. If you have not completed them, please log into your MyCBE/PowerSchool account and complete these items. If you need assistance locating these forms please contact the office after 8:30 am. Thank you for helping us keep our student data up to date.
- Students in K--5 are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school on October 31st. Please do not send any accessories for their costumes to school, this includes masks.
- Our fall book fair is coming!! Please see the attached flyer so more information.
- The lost and found is overflowing. Please stop in if you are able to take a look!
- Remembrance Day is fast approaching. As part of this we are asking families (if applicable) to send a digital photo of your current Cranston Student as well as a photo (or a copy of an older photograph) of any current service member or veteran in your family. Please have your submissions emailed to Mrs. Stricker at ojstricker@cbe.ab.ca by November 4th. Ms. Stricker has kept all the submissions from last year’s display so if you submitted last year no need to resend for this year. There are a few bio questions to help identify their role and connection to our community.

This week in music we continued working on our pumpkin, bat and spooky songs. Classes used non-pitched percussion instruments including wood blocks, shakers, guiros, to accompany songs like “Pass the Pumpkin” and “In the Hall of the Mountain King” and "Hungarian Dance No. 5."
Grade Four students played the pitched Boomwhackers, and the Grade Five classes continued working on their soundscapes to accompany the Skeleton Dance video.
