Principal’s Post

One of the most joyful traditions in a school is the opportunity to celebrate learning together. At Cranston School, our March conferences are something that both staff and students look forward to each year because they are student-led.  

Student-Led Conferences place children at the center of the conversation about their learning. During the conference, your child will guide you through different learning stations in the classroom, sharing examples of their work, explaining what they have been learning, and celebrating the progress they have made. It is a wonderful opportunity for children to reflect on their growth and take pride in their accomplishments.  

It is important that legal guardians book a half-hour time slot and should be aware that there will be up to three other families in the room at the same time. Teachers will be circulating throughout the room, supporting conversations and helping guide the learning stations while students lead the discussion. To help ensure that parents can give their full attention to their school-aged child during this time, families are encouraged to arrange childcare for younger siblings if possible.

Report Cards and Conferences

Report cards are now visible on your MyCBE account. 

The Parent-Teacher Conference (Student-Led) booking system opens online Monday, March 9.   To secure your conference spot, you must book online through your MyCBE account. For instructions see the  Parent-Teacher Conference page. on our school website.  

  • Conference Times: 
  • March 19 – Kindergarten conferences (all day) 
  • March 19 – Kindergarten to Grade 4 conferences (4:00–7:00 PM) 
  • March 20 – Kindergarten to Grade 4 conferences (8:00–10:00 AM)

School Council Meeting:

Join us at the school on Tuesday March 17 at 6:30 PM for our next school council meeting. Mrs. George and Mrs. Bodley are excited to show everyone the new sensory room and you will hear updates from our school council members about some of the exciting things happening at Cranston School this spring.

🎉 CRANSTON SCHOOL SPRING FAMILY DANCE April 16 🎉 Hosted by Parent Council  
Ticket sales open Sunday March 8! Due to city and fire code regulations, we can only allow 500 people in the gym per time slot. This means there are limited tickets available! This event sold out last year and we expect it to sell out again!  
⏰ Two Time Slots: 5:00 – 6:30 PM and 7:00 – 8:30 PM  
 👨‍👩‍👧 Important:  

  • Each child must attend with a parent or guardian  
  • No parent/guardian = no entry  
  • If you have multiple children (siblings/twins), one parent can attend with them, just purchase the parent & child ticket plus additional child ticket(s).   

Tickets are $7.50 per child. Each ticket includes a goodie bag with a sweet treat and a glow-in-the-dark surprise! We will also have a fun photo area where you can snap pictures with your child and their friends!
